We've had a really busy few months since the last post...considering the last one was in January, you could argue we've been really busy.
Since our last post, a lot has happened. A new website was born, new clients arrived at destination Mango but also some clients left. We did a big marketing push, going old school and sending out swag, but also kicked it digital by setting up targeted Facebook advertising. Both were extremely successful in getting Mango noticed and on the map. To coincide with the marketing push, we also setup an infographic that highlights WHY good design is important and without it you could be losing customers. You can see that here. We are also networking the shizzle out of Essex and its local areas to get Mango noticed. We've managed to get some really exciting leads from this, but we've also met some great people along the way.
We had a new arrival in the Mango house with baby Annabelle being born in October 2016, we also moved house just after Christmas and im also in the midst of planning my wedding on July 1st. They say it's hard having a work life balance, I disagree, when all sides are as hectic as this, it's hard to have any kind of balance.
Have you ever heard of the phrase...'A builders house is always the last to be finished'? We hadn't until a few months ago, when we realised the new website wasn't actually being built despite us having flats of the design for over a year. I decided to take a bold step and...collaborate. I approached an design agency that we've worked with before. Within a week, the site was being built and we could concetrate on what we do best, working with clients on their designs.
We were lucky, we were able to take the step and outsource our site, not everyone has the funds or contacts to do this. As a company trying to get itself off the ground ourselves, I would give any budding entrepreneur one piece of advice...build your network. No one company is an island. Delegate if you don't have everything in place.
Since networking, we've picked up some great contacts from people who fill the gaps where we may not be the strongest. Rather than see them as a threat I thought it would make much more sense to see how we can work together. Taking certain aspects away from us, has helped us streamline what we work on, allowing us more time to devote to getting our clients designs right. For us thats the most important part of what we do.
